Hi there! I'm a custom clothing designer based in Atlanta, GA, and I love creating unique and stylish tumblers for my customers.
One of the most important things to do to keep your custom tumbler looking its best is to take good care of it. Here are a few tips:
Wash Your Tumbler Regularly
Keeping your tumbler clean is essential for maintaining its appearance and preventing the growth of bacteria. I recommend washing your tumbler after every use, especially if you've been drinking something with a strong smell or color.
To hand-wash your tumbler, simply follow these steps:
- Fill a sink or basin with warm water and mild soap.
- Submerge your tumbler in the soapy water and gently scrub it with a sponge or dishcloth.
- Rinse the tumbler thoroughly with clean water.
- Dry the tumbler immediately with a clean towel.
If you don't have time to hand-wash your tumbler right away, you can soak it in a solution of mild soap and water for up to 30 minutes. Then, rinse and dry the tumbler as usual.
Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners on your tumbler, as these can damage the finish. You should also avoid putting your tumbler in the dishwasher, as the high heat and harsh chemicals can also damage the finish.
Here are some additional tips for washing your tumbler:
- Use a soft sponge or cloth to avoid scratching the finish.
- Be sure to rinse away all of the soap, as residue can attract bacteria.
- Dry the tumbler immediately to prevent moisture from getting trapped inside.
- If your tumbler has a straw, be sure to clean it thoroughly as well.
Don't Use Harsh Chemicals
Harsh chemicals, such as bleach and ammonia, can damage the design and finish of your tumbler. They can also leave behind harmful residues that can leach into your drinks.
If you need to clean your tumbler with a stronger cleaner, be sure to dilute it according to the directions on the label. You should also test the cleaner in an inconspicuous area of the tumbler first to make sure it doesn't damage the finish.
Here are some natural and non-toxic cleaners that you can use to clean your tumbler:
- Baking soda and water: Make a paste of baking soda and water and scrub the tumbler with it. Rinse with clean water.
- Vinegar: Mix equal parts vinegar and water and soak the tumbler in the solution for 30 minutes. Rinse with clean water.
- Lemon juice: Mix equal parts lemon juice and water and scrub the tumbler with it. Rinse with clean water.
These natural cleaners are effective at removing dirt, grime, and stains, and they won't damage the tumbler's design or finish.
Here are some additional tips for cleaning your tumbler with natural cleaners:
- Be sure to rinse the tumbler thoroughly after cleaning to remove any residue.
- If you are using baking soda, be sure to wear gloves to protect your skin.
- Avoid using harsh scrubbing brushes, as these can scratch the tumbler's finish.
Don't Leave Your Tumbler in The Sun
The sun's UV rays can fade the colors and design on your tumbler. They can also cause the tumbler to become brittle and crack. To prevent this, avoid leaving your tumbler in direct sunlight.
If you need to leave your tumbler outside, be sure to put it in a shady spot. You can also put your tumbler in a case or bag to protect it from the sun's rays.
Here are some additional tips for protecting your tumbler from the sun:
- If you are going to be leaving your tumbler in the car, be sure to put it in the trunk or in a shaded spot.
- If you are going to be at the beach or pool, be sure to put your tumbler in a cooler or under an umbrella.
- If you are going to be hiking or camping, be sure to put your tumbler in a backpack or other bag that will protect it from the sun.
Here is some additional information about the harmful effects of UV rays on tumblers:
- UV rays can break down the bonds in the dyes and pigments used to create the colors and design on your tumbler. This can cause the colors to fade and the design to become blurry.
- UV rays can also damage the plastic or acrylic that your tumbler is made of. This can cause the tumbler to become brittle and crack.
- The effects of UV rays are cumulative, so the longer your tumbler is exposed to the sun, the more damage it will suffer.
Don't Drop Your Tumbler
Tumblers are made of a variety of materials, including plastic, acrylic, and stainless steel. While these materials are durable, they can still be damaged if they are dropped.
To prevent your tumbler from being damaged, be careful when handling it. Avoid dropping it or banging it against hard surfaces. If you do drop your tumbler, inspect it carefully for any damage. If the tumbler is damaged, you may need to replace it.
Here are some additional tips for preventing your tumbler from being damaged:
- When you are not using your tumbler, put it in a safe place where it will not be knocked over or dropped.
- If you are taking your tumbler with you on the go, put it in a case or bag to protect it from bumps and knocks.
- Be careful when pouring liquids into your tumbler. Avoid pouring too quickly or forcefully, as this can cause the tumbler to tip over.
Here is some additional information about the risks of dropping a tumbler:
- Dropping a tumbler can cause the design to chip or crack. This can be unsightly and can also make the tumbler more difficult to clean.
- Dropping a tumbler can also cause the tumbler to break. This can be dangerous, especially if the tumbler is full of liquid.
- The risk of damage from dropping a tumbler increases if the tumbler is made of a thinner material.
